Women's Support Groups
Northwest Family Life provides free weekly support groups in the Shoreline area. We have both daytime and evening groups that meet for 90 minutes.
A core belief of our Advocacy and Support Program is that each woman solves her own problems in her own way at her own time. Support group provides a safe time and place to share difficult thoughts and feelings. Meetings include discussion topics as well as time for open sharing. Women are not required to share any information unless and until they feel comfortable doing so.
Support groups cover the following core topics:
- What is Domestic Violence?
- Power and control
- Safety Planning
- Behavioral Tactics Used by Abusers
- Verbal and Emotional Abuse
- Physical and Sexual Abuse
- Cycle of Violence
- Grief and Loss
- Basic Rights
- Broken Faith
- Common Questions and Answers
- Why Women Stay
- Batterers
- Children and Domestic Violence
Call us at 206.300.2243 to schedule a group orientation intake appointment.
